The Income Tax Department has mentioned the PAN-Aadhaar demographic mismatch fix. If the PAN and Aadhaar are not linked by June 30, 2023, then Rs. 1000 will be fined. Moreover, the PAN card will expire after the due date, and as a result, taxpayers will not be liable to submit a claim for a deduction or a refund.
- Due to Protean’s (previously NSDL’s) planned maintenance, the e-KYC and Aadhaar authentication services won’t be available from 11:00 p.m. on August 11 until 5:00 a.m. on August 12 2023.
Recently, the department was notified that personal details such as name, gender, and date of birth mismatches could result in demographic mismatches when PAN & Aadhaar are linked. To further encourage the seamless integration of PAN and Aadhaar, biometric-based authentication has been made available.
At Protean and UTIITSL service centres, PAN service providers, the authentication facility is available.
